It was great to see our volunteer Ella Martin this week return from her travels.

We were finally able to present her with an award from the @savs_southend volunteer awards.

Ella won the Environmental Champions Award for her support at Wellbeing Garon Park ⭐️

Ella developed Garon Park’s first-ever Bee Strategy, a piece of work that has laid the foundation for long-term habitat enhancement across our 200-acre site. She conducted regular site visits, educated fellow volunteers about bee ecology and carried out detailed surveys. Her recommendations have been instrumental in the planning to support bees on site. Ella’s work has supported partnerships with organisations such as the British Bumblebee Conservation Trust. 🐝
